Hyderabad: Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Telangana organised the Telangana Tourism Summit 2026 at the National Institute of Tourism & Hospitality Management (NITHM), bringing together government, industry leaders, tourism professionals and academia to deliberate on strengthening the state’s tourism ecosystem under the theme “Telangana Tourism 2030: Heritage, Innovation & Sustainability.”
R Sivaprasad Reddy, Chairman, CII Telangana, emphasised that tourism holds significant potential to drive inclusive economic growth in the state by generating employment, strengthening local enterprises, and promoting Telangana’s unique identity. He noted that closer collaboration between government, industry, and institutions would be essential to build world-class tourism infrastructure, enhance visitor experiences, and position Telangana as a leading cultural and heritage destination.
In her Theme Address, Dr Tejaswini Yarlagadda, Chairperson, CII Telangana Tourism & Culture Taskforce, underscored the need to position Telangana’s heritage, culture, crafts, and local culinary traditions as integrated tourism experiences rather than standalone attractions. She highlighted the importance of connecting art, heritage, festivals, and community participation to create immersive tourism circuits that engage both domestic and international travellers while ensuring sustainability and local livelihood generation.
Delivering the Special Address, Valluru Kranthi, Managing Director, Telangana Tourism Development Corporation, outlined key initiatives being undertaken to enhance tourism promotion, infrastructure, and visitor experience across the state.
